Full Body MRI Vancouver Diagnostics

Full Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Preventive health screening can provide you with early detection and diagnosis of cancer and other abnormalities. Our comprehensive full body MRI scan includes: the brain, the brain arteries and blood vessels, vital organs of the neck, shoulders, lumbar spine, spinal cord, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, reproductive organs, discs, and hips.

Most MRI machines are unable to perform a full body examination, requiring the patient to be imaged in sections. Our 3 Tesla MRI allows for full body MRI imaging without the inconvenience of multiple scans and repositioning. With the 3 Tesla MRI the time a patient spends getting scanned is far shorter than the standard 1.5 Tesla MRI.

False Creek Healthcare is the only private healthcare facility in Canada that offers Total Sedation MRI.

Full Body MRI Scans

Some examples of the use of an MRI scanner in early detection are:

  • Degenerative changes
  • Para spinal mass lesions
  • Lymphatic system
  • Bone alignment
  • Free fluid in the abdomen

A focused scan is required for rotator cuff injuries, ligament and cartilage tears to fully determine the extent of injury.

What to Expect

The whole procedure takes 60 to 90 minutes with breaks to ensure patient comfort.

Top Reasons to Choose False Creek Healthcare Centre

Advanced Diagnostic Technology – The 3.0T MRI
The 3.0T MRI represents a breakthrough in Canada’s imaging. Only available at False Creek Healthcare Centre in Vancouver B.C, the 3 Tesla MRI produces images faster and with unprecedented detail. Add clarity and certainty to you diagnosis.
Professionalism
We hire only qualified technologists to perform your scan. Our MRI technicians are highly skilled and are required to have at least 1,000 hours of training in order to work with us.
All Inclusive Healthcare
False Creek Healthcare Centre is a one of a kind private Hospital in downtown Vancouver. Our facility is a unique, patient-centered, world class Healthcare Organization, where the Urgent Care Centre, Advanced Diagnostics Centre, and Surgical Centre are all located in the same building.

After Your MRI

Our radiologists will carefully analyze your MRI images and provide a report to you and your physician. Once they have received the report your physician will then discuss the results with you. Your technologist will also provide you with a CD containing the images from your scan when you leave.

Safety

MRI is a safe and effective diagnostic procedure. It does not use ionizing radiation like an x-ray. Additionally, the 3.0T Signa EXCITE HDX MRI system has been designed with your safety and comfort in mind. Many older MRI system use larger coils, which can make the unit more confining, but the GE 3.0T Signa EXCITE HDX MRI system features more compact, more advanced coils, meaning the MRI experience is much more comfortable.

I have been diagnosed with breast cancer (one side only, invasive ductal carcinoma, Stage II only) but before the surgeon goes in for the third time (yet another partial mastectomy), I was thinking to have an MRI done a.s.a.p. (rather than waiting). I suppose we really want to know about my lymph system (one lymph node sampled was fine, the other not, so the third surgery will be 10 more nodes to sample from under that arm). I don’t know if a full body MRI is warranted (we don’t have money to burn but are eager to get this done so that my surgeon could be more guided) but I know it must cost more….. Suggestions?
