Full Body MRI Vancouver Diagnostics

Full Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Preventive health screening can provide you with early detection and diagnosis of cancer and other abnormalities. Our comprehensive full body MRI scan includes: the brain, the brain arteries and blood vessels, vital organs of the neck, shoulders, lumbar spine, spinal cord, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, reproductive organs, discs, and hips.

Most MRI machines are unable to perform a full body examination, requiring the patient to be imaged in sections. Our 3 Tesla MRI allows for full body MRI imaging without the inconvenience of multiple scans and repositioning. With the 3 Tesla MRI the time a patient spends getting scanned is far shorter than the standard 1.5 Tesla MRI.

False Creek Healthcare is the only private healthcare facility in Canada that offers Total Sedation MRI.

Full Body MRI Scans

Some examples of the use of an MRI scanner in early detection are:

  • Degenerative changes
  • Para spinal mass lesions
  • Lymphatic system
  • Bone alignment
  • Free fluid in the abdomen

A focused scan is required for rotator cuff injuries, ligament and cartilage tears to fully determine the extent of injury.

What to Expect

The whole procedure takes 60 to 90 minutes with breaks to ensure patient comfort.

Top Reasons to Choose False Creek Healthcare Centre

Advanced Diagnostic Technology – The 3.0T MRI
The 3.0T MRI represents a breakthrough in Canada’s imaging. Only available at False Creek Healthcare Centre in Vancouver B.C, the 3 Tesla MRI produces images faster and with unprecedented detail. Add clarity and certainty to you diagnosis.
Professionalism
We hire only qualified technologists to perform your scan. Our MRI technicians are highly skilled and are required to have at least 1,000 hours of training in order to work with us.
All Inclusive Healthcare
False Creek Healthcare Centre is a one of a kind private Hospital in downtown Vancouver. Our facility is a unique, patient-centered, world class Healthcare Organization, where the Urgent Care Centre, Advanced Diagnostics Centre, and Surgical Centre are all located in the same building.

After Your MRI

Our radiologists will carefully analyze your MRI images and provide a report to you and your physician. Once they have received the report your physician will then discuss the results with you. Your technologist will also provide you with a CD containing the images from your scan when you leave.

Safety

MRI is a safe and effective diagnostic procedure. It does not use ionizing radiation like an x-ray. Additionally, the 3.0T Signa EXCITE HDX MRI system has been designed with your safety and comfort in mind. Many older MRI system use larger coils, which can make the unit more confining, but the GE 3.0T Signa EXCITE HDX MRI system features more compact, more advanced coils, meaning the MRI experience is much more comfortable.

I am 63; have cognitive problems that showed up when taking lipitor and arimidex drugs Am no longer taking them . Am very adhd; have had head injuries over time because of accidents; balance problems were said to be neurological by orthotics therapist at UNBC in2010 Arthritis thru body controlled by celebrex. whenever I miss taking medication, I get an intense headache while sleeping that appears to be centered at back of head from ear to ear. Early heart conditions in both parents; am a non smoker, very moderate drinker. Constantly fatiqued.
I think a full body mri could ease my mind. One emergency doctor had suggested I get an mri to eliminate multiple sclerosis in 2011. What would the cost be.

Hi, I have been having chest pain with heart doing weird things, describes as galloping? This is when I’m at rest or moving around.
Local doctor has taken blood pressure etc. alls good. Can a MRI give a clear picture of the heart? And if so what would the cost be for upper body?

I, like many others, would like to know the total cost of a full body MRI. What do you charge? Why do you not post this for the many of us to see without each writing a request?

Please tell me how much it would cost for me to have upper body scan? Left shoulder pain like a burning hot knife. Cannot lift or place left arm behind my back with out pain either in shoulder or in bicep (back & front). Neck also gets painful depending how I sleep or my activities. One other is that I had a heart attack in 2007 and would like to know if everything is good. Have developed an irregular heart beat.

you might want to see my physio Christine at Treolar on West Boulevard and 39th. She is wonderful and fixed my left arm/shoulder in two sessions when I couldn’t lift it more than 3″ from my side.

I’m currently living with a very painful knee and have a specialists appointment in Feb. 2012 so I’m considering a private MRI. A full body MRI sounds interesting and could prove to be benificial as I have many other weird (not painful) events happening through out my body.

Curious, as to the cost of an MRI for my knee? and the cost of a whole body MRI?

Also, if surgery needs to be done is it faster using False Creeks MRI’s or is it the same amount of time if I have an MRI done else where and then bring it in to False Creek? Look forward to your answers.

I have a very painful left knee which has been x-rayed. It shows no arthritis or any other chronic “problems”. My GP believes I have a torn meniscus which he feels only an MRI can detect, for sure. I am currently waiting for an appointment with a sports medicine person. I am getting the impression that it will take next to forever……. What is the cost of getting an MRI on my knee at your clinic?

Also, my right hip is causing me problems as well. It has been x-rayed and there is some wear and some osteoarthritis. Would it be of any benefit to have an MRI on my hip and what would be the cost?

Might just as well ask what a full body MRI would cost as well……..

    Hi,

I’m interested in a full body MRI as a means of disease and cancer prevention. I have lost loved ones to cancer and understand the value of early detection.

    Questions:
do I need a doctors referral?
how long does the scan take and how much does it cost?
If a tumor is located will I need any follow up scans?

    Thank you

I have been told I need hip replacement surgery. However I have an intense burning sensation in my knee and therefore am not sure whether I need hip or knee surgery.

My mother died of breast cancer so therefore I am interested in having a full body scan.
Please can you inform me as to the cost of this procedure.
